Role Overview

The Community Coordinator will be responsible for building, nurturing, and engaging the Change Managers Practitioner Group. This role involves driving meaningful connections, facilitating knowledge exchange, and creating opportunities for professional growth. The Coordinator will act as the bridge between Cedar, the alumni network, and the broader East African change management community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day engagement within the practitioner group (WhatsApp, LinkedIn, webinars, and in-person meetups).
  • Develop and implement engagement activities (e.g., 'Tool of the Month' sessions, peer learning forums, newsletters).
  • Actively grow the community by onboarding new members and ensuring they are effectively integrated.
  • Coordinate content creation and distribution, including practitioner spotlights, success stories, and learning resources.
  • Work with Cedar’s communications team to design and publish monthly community updates and event highlights.
  • Curate and share relevant change management resources, tools, and global best practices.
  • Plan and execute regular community events such as webinars, workshops, and networking sessions.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for both virtual and in-person engagements.
  • Track participation, gather feedback, and propose improvements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community members, responding to queries and supporting engagement.
  • Collaborate with Cedar’s consulting team to integrate insights from the practitioner group into broader Cedar programs.
  • Build partnerships with external networks and professional associations to add value to members.
  • Track community metrics (growth, engagement, participation) and share regular updates with Cedar leadership.
  • Monitor trends in practitioner interests and recommend new initiatives to increase value for members.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in community management, events coordination, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse professionals.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Comfortable with digital platforms (Zoom, LinkedIn, WhatsApp groups, Canva, Mailchimp or similar).
  • Passion for learning and professional development in HR, organizational change, or leadership.
