We are now seeking Client Acquisition Consultants to expand our reach and strengthen our presence across East Africa
**Location:** East Africa (Kenya/Uganda/Tanzania/Ethiopia/Rwanda/Burundi)
**Engagement:** Consultancy / Commission-Based
**Reports to:** CEO, Cedar Africa Group
Role Overview
The Client Acquisition Consultant will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing new business opportunities for Cedar Africa. This is a performance-driven consultancy role ideal for entrepreneurial professionals with strong networks, credibility, and the ability to sell consulting solutions to senior-level clients.
You will act as a trusted ambassador of Cedar Africa in the market, opening doors with decision-makers, positioning our solutions, and supporting the conversion of opportunities into signed engagements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Networking
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, NGO, development, and public sectors.
- Leverage personal and professional networks to generate leads and referrals.
- Establish and nurture relationships with C-suite executives, boards, and senior HR leaders.
Client Engagement
- Present Cedar Africa’s value proposition credibly and confidently to prospective clients.
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand client needs and align them with Cedar’s solutions.
- Work closely with Cedar’s leadership and delivery teams to scope and close deals.
Market Intelligence & Representation
- Stay abreast of market trends, business challenges, and sector priorities in East Africa.
- Represent Cedar Africa at events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Provide market insights to inform Cedar’s growth strategy.
Sales Process Management
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
- Track opportunities, pipeline, and progress against agreed targets.
- Ensure alignment with Cedar’s brand, values, and standards of professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven track record in business development, client acquisition, or sales in consulting, professional services, or HR solutions.
- Strong networks and credibility with decision-makers across one or more sectors (e.g., banking, insurance, NGOs, DFIs, government, regional corporates).
- Demonstrated ability to open doors, build trust, and convert relationships into revenue.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and self-motivated; thrives in performance-driven environments.
- Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate or professional qualifications an advantage.
Engagement Terms
- Consultancy/independent contractor engagement (not full-time employment).
- Flexible, output-driven arrangement with performance-based remuneration (commission and/or success fees).
